Rune Kjær Rasmussen It speaks directly to me the idea of keeping the ritual alive as a life expression. This is what Kust talks about and this is what Kust does on this album. This is a very moving, mysterious and strong album that manages to create a ritualistic home for me, whenever I listen to it.

about

Kust to tradycyjna nazwa rytuału, a Kust jako zespół, to projekt służący przeżywaniu go poprzez tworzenie i odtwarzanie muzyki.

The ultimate goal is to keep the ritual alive, not just save it from being forgotten. Each of us is the medium, but bringing the ritual to life is possible only through cooperation and social bonding. The ritual lies at the base of the community, which was founded and kept alive through it. Invention of a metaphor was an act of magic, and use of music a biological act, inherently imprinted into our unconsciousness in the course of evolution of our species.

Stemming from a vocal tradition accompanying various rituals, we are combining it with modern music oriented towards the transgression. Kust is a traditional name for a ritual, but also a name of the band, a project serving the need of experiencing ourselves through creating and performing music.

What united us was a ritual act, in which we’re trying to include every listener by the usage of sound, a wave and vibration. By the presence of consciousness and its final dissolvement, we’re recreating the persistence of history, imprinted into every human being.
